About Us

A dining setup with steak and sides in a lodge interior.

Every second Sunday of the month, the smell of a hot breakfast buffet draws locals to 1040 Jackson St before the rest of Sidney has finished its coffee. That kind of reliable, low-key tradition is exactly what the Sidney Elks Lodge is built on. Members and guests come back year after year, some logging four or more visits across two decades, because this place delivers something consistent: good people, good food, and a genuine sense of belonging in a small Nebraska city.

The Lodge is probably best known locally for its Flag Day celebration, an annual event that honors the stars and stripes with the kind of quiet, sincere patriotism that feels right at home on the High Plains. It's not a flashy production. It's a room full of people who actually mean it. That authenticity carries through everything the Elks do here, from the monthly breakfasts to the BINGO nights that have turned first-time visitors into regulars after just one evening.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 across dozens of reviews, the Sidney Lodge earns its reputation one event at a time. This is the kind of organization that doesn't need to advertise heavily because the people who've been here once tend to come back.

What We Offer

The Lodge calendar runs year-round with events that give the Sidney community real reasons to gather. BINGO nights are a crowd favorite, drawing players from Sidney and even neighboring towns like Sterling, CO. The format is welcoming to newcomers, so first-timers fit right in without any awkward learning curve.

The monthly breakfast buffet, held the second Sunday of every month, is a genuine community institution. Expect hot, hearty food served in a friendly, no-fuss atmosphere. The Flag Day celebration each June is one of the Lodge's signature annual events, offering a meaningful tribute to American history that members and guests look forward to all year.

Beyond these anchor events, the Lodge hosts private gatherings, member meetings, and seasonal celebrations that fill the calendar with reasons to show up. Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks also connects Sidney members to a national network of charitable giving and community service that extends well beyond the walls on Jackson Street.

"This is about my 4th time coming to this place, in 20 years. This time was for the yearly celebration of flag day. Nothing too fancy, but a nice display of the years celebrating the stars and stripes. I have not much to say about the place, other than they do serve evening meals on Wednesday and Friday. Maybe bingo, but not sure about that."

"We went to the Elks Lodge for the first time after seeing a lot of different events and fun things going on. We always wanted to try BINGO here (after only playing in Sterling CO). We showed up having no idea what games were played or how anything worked. And everyone was so welcoming and kind to us. We caught on quickly and had a great time. We had so much fun that we are looking forward to more bingo and checking out some of the other events. And to add to the experience the food was great!!!"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
